The Result of Mangrove REpLaNT 2008

Jepara, Central Java. On 18 - 20 July 2008, KeSEMaT had conducted its yearly event known as Mangrove REpLaNT (MR) 2008: Seminar, Campaign, Training and Re-plantation of Mangrove. MR 2008 followed by 100 participants such as students, college students (from UI, UGM, UNDIP, UNNES, UNP, UNAIR, et cetera), NGO, community, etcetera.

There were four experts who attended Forest for Rent Seminar from Department of Forestry, Wetlands International Indonesia Programme, Law Expert of UNDIP, and Local Government of Jepara. Next, Mangrove Culinary presented by trainers from LPP Mangrove Jakarta.

Experts from KeSEMaT also gave training about mangrove transect method, cultivation, re-plantation and maintenance technique. Total number of planted seeds was 2000 belong to four species such as Avicennia marina, Rhizophora stylosa, Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora apiculata, and Ceriops decandra. [<]
