The Result of Mangrove Plantation of MANGCON 2008

Semarang, Central Java. On Augustus, 9 2008, there were implementing program called mangrove plantation of Mangrove Conservation (MANGCON) 2008: Coastal Clean Up organized by KeSEMaT, Marine and Fisheries of Semarang and NGO BINTARI in KeSEMaT Office, Semarang. It was conducted around the fishponds areas of High School of Sultan Agung Semarang.

Except 80 KeSEMaTERS and KeMANGTEERs, there were 500 participants of MANGCON 2008 followed by 500 participants from many institutions such as NGO, organizations and another stake holders in Semarang.

MANGCON 2008 was starting with gathering lead by regent of Semarang. Next, there were briefing about mangrove plantation of KeSEMaT presented by Arief Marsudi Harjo (Leader of Alumnus). It followed by plantation by all of participants of MANGCON 2008.

There were 3000 seeds which had planted. It was from two species i.e. Rhizophora apiculata and Avicennia marina. At the end of it there were coastal clean up by KeSEMaTERS dan KeMANGTEER. All of it was starting at 6 AM until 3 PM. [<]
